Early 2000s classic music: Story behind “NSYNC”

classic music - NSYNC

‘N Sync was a 5-member boy band (Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Justin Timberlake) who began their career in Florida, United States in 1995.

The name of the band is born from the fusion of the last letters of the first name of the members (JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, JasoN and JC). In addition the name in English alludes to the synchrony that existed between the voices of the boys.

Their first record material “* NSYNC” went on sale in 1998 and made an impressive debut in Europe and the United States, especially among teenage female audiences.

That same year, taking advantage of the great welcome they had, they released in the United States a Christmas album titled “Home for Christmas”. In parallel the European version goes on sale under the title of “The Winter Album”.

In 1999, they have legal problems with their old manager Lou Pearlman. After resolving the trial, they get a new representative, Johnny Wright and thanks to him they sign with a major label: Jive Records.

Later, in March 2001, their new album “No Strings Attached” released. This album was managed to sell 2.4 million copies in just one week.

That same year, in mid-June, their new album “Celebrity” released, which also sold in its first week of release the impressive amount of 1.8 million copies. This album is considered the most mature of the group because of the songs like “Gone”, “Pop” and “Girlfriend”

On the other hand, the pop band recorded along with Gloria Estefan, the song “Music of My Heart” for the sound track of the film “Music of the Heart”.

The grouping has also appeared on TV on several occasions like in the program “The Simpsons” and in the series “Clueless”; “Touched by an Angel”; “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” and “Robot Chicken.”

The group decides to take a break in the year 2002, because its members wanted to work on their personal projects independently.

Justin Timberlake releases his solo debut album under the title of “Justified” in November of that same year, and later publishes “FutureSex / LoveSounds”, in 2006.

JC Chasez follows in the footsteps with the album “Schizophrenic”, appeared in February of 2004.

Kirkpatrick has been involved with several indie / punk rock bands, and has also lent his voice to children’s TV shows such as “The Fairly Odd parents.”

Bass made his dream come true after becoming a certified astronaut after several months of training in Russia. In addition, he runs an independent film company (Bacon and Eggs) and has starred in his own film “On the Line”, along with another former N Sync member, Joey Fatone.

Finally, Joe Fatone has appeared as an actor in the films “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, “The Cooler”, and “Homie Spumoni”. He has also participated in Broadway plays.
